CARNAGE AT THE CAR WASH

Shocking new footage shows bloodied Romanian car wash workers ‘mowed down by drink-driver who injured five after rowing with them moments earlier’

My weekly news this week is about how a motorist in his 30's ran over five Romanian car wash workers after an argument. The man was seen to be intoxicated. Police said a man, 25, and a woman, 35, were  “serious but stable” and two other men, aged 36 and 46, had minor injuries.
The driver got into his Mercedes  to plough into workers, scattering debris and footwear across the pavement in  Catford, South East London. He then fled, chased by two men — one soaked in blood — who yelled: “What the f*** have you done?”

Colin Liddell, 29, added: “The  car turned round, accelerated and hit the people. He intended to.”
He also adds: "I saw the car turn around at the junction and then he put his accelerator to the floor and hit the bollard and five people before he hit the wall."

This news article shows the representation of issues such as drink driving and the devastating effects it can have on people. Also the representation of ethnicity, The sun highlighted the fact that the car was workers were Romanian which makes the reader feel somewhat sorry for them as they didn't deserve it, it can be seen as a racial attack as they are not from the UK.

The effects this has on me as a reader is that it has left me shocked, the fact that a man can be so spiteful to do such thing. These people didn't deserve such a thing to happen to them and I am surprised that no one suspected the man to have been drunk whilst driving.
